About Zoe Cohen, LCSW

Therapist

AdminMy philosophy…

I believe therapy can be an enjoyable, comforting, challenging, and moving process, which can be life-changing with the right therapist.

I recognize how difficult it can be to show up consistently and put in the work. It’s my privilege to guide you through this process and support you in whatever way you need.

Therapy can be difficult, but it can also be transformative, rewarding, and even fun!

My style…

I am a compassionate, engaged, thoughtful therapist with a pragmatic, humanistic approach. I am passionate about practicing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and using psychodynamic techniques when appropriate.

My strengths are listening, validating, exploring, and challenging thoughts with my clients. I’ve helped people with a wide range of diagnoses understand, accept, and cope with their unique challenges.

I find it gratifying to watch my clients deepen their understanding of themselves and embrace life’s challenges with newfound strength.

My top three qualities…

(1) Empathetic
(2) Collaborative
(3) Supportive

My most important credentials and successes…

I completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Yeshiva University and am licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Over the years, I’ve honed my skills working with adolescents and adults, delivering evidence-based treatments such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. I’ve worked at three distinguished eating disorder treatment centers.

My certifications include NYU’s Advanced Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy training and Thomas Lynch’s RO-DBT training. I’m passionate about delivering evidence-based treatments tailored to my clients’ needs.

I am a big animal lover and volunteer with my therapy-trained dog on the weekends.

Going to the grocery store is one of my favorite activities.

I have a passion for interior design and hunting for hidden gems.

Yoga is my favorite form of mindful movement.
